Interview with Pamela
What characteristics make up a good protagonist?
The same characteristics that make up any character work for a good protagonist...they must be identifiable by the reader, have good qualities to balance out the not-so-nice ones and of course be open and willing to allow their best qualities show/develop by the end of the story.
Who is your favorite fictional protagonist from a novel you have not written?
Boy that's a tough one! I absolutely love the protagonists in Nora Roberts and Julie Lessman novels - guess if I HAD to pick a favorite it would be Gray in Nora's Born in Ice (book 2 in the Born In trilogy).
How did you come up with the idea for your protagonist?
An avid romance reader, I knew the type of characters I truly enjoyed....tough yet tender males and strong yet feminine females - so these traits came naturally to my own writing.
