In July, COTT staff added three member to the family. We already love and appreciate these ladies and are enjoying introducing them to you. Last Saturday, we met Raquel Byrnes. Today, we'll get to know Katie McCurdy!
Katie is 19 and third eldest in a family of 10 children. She self-published her first historical fiction, Journey of Faith, and has since then been working on perfecting her writing abilities. Currently, she is writing a medieval suspense with the working title of The Princess' Assassin and is co-authoring a biblical fiction entitled Scattered Tears. Along with a passion for writing, she is an avid reader. Whenever she's not on the computer writing, she's sure to be reading. Besides that, Katie loves volleyball, hanging out with her sibling, and blogging at www.katie-mccurdy.blogspot.com
Welcome, Katie! Nine siblings? Wow. I bet you're never lonely! So, how did you hear about COTT?
Oh, that's a good question. Hmm...I want to say that I saw it on Renee over at Black 'n Gold Girl's Book Spot. That's as far back as I can remember. But once finding out about it, I was checking out COTT as often as I could. I just loved the idea of having a competition against author's works. And I loved voting on which I liked best. That was just too cool. We love our Blog Alliance members, and we love that you fell in love with COTT! And that you're part of our team. Can you share with our readers what your new role/specialty is Clash of the Titles?
Oh yeah, Talent Scout is a sweet title. You can thank Michelle for that. She's great at picking names. What is one goal that you would like to see met before the end of the year?
Another goal is to finish writing my medieval suspense book by the end of this year. How am I doing? Hmm...still working on it. Haha! Actually, I'm doing pretty good. Wrote a whole chapter last night, and am gearing up for another chapter before I hit the sack tonight. ;-) Way to go! You can do it!
Tell us three interesting random facts about you.
Random Fact #1 - I love playing volleyball! Could play all day if someone is willing to play with me.
Random Fact #2 - I had scoliosis surgery (Fixes a metal rod to your spine to correct abnormal and extreme curving of the spine) when I was 14Random Fact #3 - I don’t like driving. Why? Because I can’t read while in the car! (which is my FAVORITE time to read!!)
Do you have a Kindle, Katie? If so, it'll read to you while you drive. Mine read to me the whole six hours home from Nashville. Heaven!
Ok COTT readers. Your turn! Katie has a question for you--
Next week, we'll introduce Delia Latham, our Blog Alliance Correspondent! All this month, Delia (as a previous COTT champ) is over at the COTT Book Club discussing her novel Destiny's Dream. Head over there now and jump in!
