In July, COTT staff added three members to the family. We already love and appreciate these ladies and would like you to get to know them too. So, for the next three Saturdays we’ll be introducing them to you. Starting with Raquel Byrnes!
Raquel writes inspirational romantic suspense with an edge-of-your-seat pace. Filled with faith, love, and adventure, her stories will make your heart flutter in more ways than one. Purple Knot, the first book in The Shades of Hope series, released in June.
An avid blogger, Raquel loves to connect with other readers and writers through her Edge of Your Seat Romance blog where she shares on the writing craft, the publishing industry, and social media. She is also available to chat on Twitter and her author site, Raquel Byrnes.com.
Welcome to COTT, Raquel!
I’m curious. How did you hear about COTT?
I saw the badge on a lot of fellow bloggers’ sidebars and got curious. I clicked over and saw how fun the challenges were to read and vote on and was hooked.
Glad to hear our badges are drawing readers! So, can you tell our fans what your role/specialty is at Clash of the Titles?
I will be a host and Social Media Manager. I’d like to explore ways to connect with other lovers of inspirational fiction. There are so many wonderful books coming out that I would love to share with others, but more importantly, the commitment to spread hope and faith is at the heart of all my goals.
We’re so blessed to have you!
What is one goal that you would like to see met before the end of the year?
I would like to find balance between my writing life and my mom life. I want to make sure I enjoy both and am well rested. One can dream!
You sure can dream, and with God’s power, you can achieve!
Tell us three interesting random facts about you.
I speak three languages; English, Spanish, and ASL; I used to serve in the deaf ministry at my church as an interpreter.
I’m a pretty good shot with a .45. I took gun classes as research for my first novel and just love target shooting.
I’m a homeschool mom and as such, can make almost any historical structure out of sugar cubes and frosting. Seriously…anything.
You enjoy shooting? Way cool. I’m learning to handle a Ruger .22 and a Glock .19. Would that be a Colt 1911 you shoot?
Now, Raquel has a question for us…
What inspires you to do something that may be outside your comfort zone?
Next week, we’ll introduce you to Katie McCurdy, our new Talent Scout!
