In honor of this week's clash, I hit up some friends on Facebook about who their favorite heroines were. Here are a few responses I got:
- Anne Shirley (4 votes)
- Jane Eyre (3 votes)
- Elizabeth Bennett (2 votes)
- Scarlet O'Hara
- Isolde
- Melanie Wilkes
- Haddassah
- Good heavens, Michelle...how's a person supposed to pick a favorite out of thousands of wonderful heroines? LOL I'll give you one of the most memorable female characters. Hope Ladley, from Cathy Marie Hake's Forevermore, is an unforgettable character. She loves spouting quotes, but inevitably turns them upside down and inside out. LOVED this book, and this heroine.
- Eowyn from the Lord of the Rimgs and Maybaline from the Help (I dont know if she counts but shes a heroine to me :)
- I would have to agree about Hadassah. And maybe because I just read Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen. To take the place of her sister is the ultimate in loving someone more than yourself.
Is your favorite on the list?
